Penta Fencing Club, headed by Olympic medalist Vaho Iagorashvili, is located at 1 Jewel Drive in Wilmington, MA.  We are just north of Route 128 and just west of Route 93. The club specializes in epee fencing. Our eight-strip salle is 12-month climate controlled and has tall ceilings, bright lights and windows.

We are proud to announce that Arpad Horvath will be joining our Penta Fencing Club as a Head Coach. Arpad brings years of experience as both a coach and an athlete. He started to fence in Budapest, Hungary, in 1989 and was a national team member six years in a row. Arpad won the Cadet World Championship and the Junior European Championship, receiving a full scholarship from St. John's University and becoming a two-time individual NCAA champion. He has been coaching since 2005 and his students have achieved great results.

Classes start on Wednesday, September 1. Please see our schedule on the Classes page. Join us for some rigorous training and fun bouting! The beginners' courses on Fridays and Saturdays will start September 11 and 12.

The modern sport of fencing has a long and storied tradition dating back to eighteenth-century European dueling and cavalry fighting. Fencing is one of only four sports to be featured in every modern Olympic Games, and it is one of five sports that make up the modern Pentathlon. Fencing has been called “a game of chess of the toes” — a challenging mix of physical and tactical training that is equally suitable for men and women, boys and girls of all ages. Today, the sport is growing in popularity in the United States under the guidance of the U.S. Fencing Association and locally in the New England Division.
