Penta Fencing Club, headed by Olympian Vaho Iagorashvili, will have a new home! Our new location at 1 Jewel Drive in Wilmington
will open officially on August 1. We expect to have a grand opening on that day from 12-3. Please join us for some food, drinks
and games!
We will be having two summer clinics at our new location on August 3-7 and August 10-14.
These week-long programs will be available for youths 16 and under, and will be coached by Viktor
Svatenko, Alisher Dzhakhangirov, and Vaho himself. Please click here for a

The modern sport of fencing
has a long and storied tradition dating
back to eighteenth-century European dueling and cavalry fighting.
Fencing is
one of only four sports to be featured in every modern Olympic Games,
and it is one of five sports that make up the modern Pentathlon.
Fencing has
been called “a game of chess of the toes” — a challenging
mix of physical and tactical training that is equally suitable for
men and women, boys and girls of all ages. Today, the sport is growing
in popularity
in the United States under the guidance of the U.S.
Fencing Association and locally in the New
England Division.

We wish to acknowledge the successes of club members who have ranked high
in major tournaments. Congratulations to Bill Blumenreich for his strong Division 1 finish in Oregon, placing him in the top 30 in the nation. In the recent Y14 tournament at BFC, Farzaan Karimi took first place and Matt Broomer took third, both qualifying for summer nationals. Kelly Hamill and Rachel Clark finished third and eighth, qualifying for summer nationals as well.
